Real Estate Investors are what is holding the fragile RE market together. With almost 30% of the deals being transacted with cash we can see that Investors are at work, literally. We will be seeing more and more discontinuity in the coming years, with good hard working people with solid credit being denied due to the overly tight underwriting. Enter investors with creative financing techniques and seller financing alternatives. Every Investor survives by the strength of his or her Power Team. …

Engineers are some of the most powerful people in the world. They have native intelligence, talent in mathematics and science and are responsible for numerous major technological advances. They not only possess knowledge of theory, but also how to apply that theory to real world problem solving and the creation of marvelous inventions. It’s unfortunate that they are so often unsung heroes. Entrepreneurs, on the other hand, are often broad brushed as near mythical, larger-than-life, demi-gods. We …

No club, if it wants to survive, can open itself to all comers. Clubs depend on exclusivity; if the conditions of membership aren’t enforced or argued away by the more insincere members, it dies or becomes something only faintly resembling what it set out to be. Let me begin, then, by telling you exactly what I want this club to be. Once a month, Bostonians who enjoy reading aloud great literature will gather at one of city’s premier watering holes to do just that. (Dive bars won’t provide the q …

Hi, like many of you, I am home because of the lockdown alert put out by the governor. I am praying they find the second suspect and life can resume. When that happens, which it will, very soon....there should be a celebration. The citizens of Boston have shown the country just how united we are after Monday's bombings. I am heartbroken over the tragedy this has caused so many people and their families. Instead of cowering or letting this level of evil affect us, let us gather together to celebr …

After losing my wife of 49 years to cancer on December 27 2011 I find a great need to be with people. The loss has left me with a feeling of great loneliness. Each day is filled with memories of her. I have a hard time going on without her. The more I am alone in my grief the more I weep and pine for her. Having a group of people to share the same loss would be so helpful. I am sure the common bond would help everyone heal.
